Our Impact

What is the use of making a film if all it does is sit on a shelf in an office... we are determined to prevent such a waste of time and resources. Thus developing an extensive distribution strategy has been one of our top priorities.

Our distribution networks contain several thousand outlets - sectors such as the global voluntary sector, academic institutions, think tanks, policy makers, University departments and civic structures. Each film's worldwide dissemination strategy is closely tailored to its cause and content.

This means tens of thousands of people will view each film. The organizations and people we carefully identify are the ones that count - they are the thought pilots and change agents who are best placed to use our stories in their work.

To demonstrate the above, click here for a detailed example of how some our films have been used.

In addition, our outreach is strengthened by some of our films going out on satellite channels like BBC World, in which case a broadcast audience of 270 million households is added.

Impact evaluation

Increasingly, funders and supporters are looking for demonstrable outcomes and changes brought about by their investment. By showing and documenting the journey of our films, we are able to provide evidence of the impact our films have - and thus inspire future funding support as well as ever increasing networking opportunities.

A questionnaire is included with each copy send out so that feedback can be given on how and where the film is used. Close relationships with agencies involved in the research process further helps to give us an accurate account of the response to our films. It allows us to measure the film's final impact and draw up evaluation reports.

We believe in sharing feedback with all involved in the film-making process to create an 'open learning' environment so that lessons learned can be applied to future activities.
